Kenyon Mcmillian2024-07-08We came from Oklahoma and stayed with family at Yellow River Lodge and really enjoyed the views and all of the ammenities. The pool and hot tub were a hit with the kids. We especially enjoyed the front porch and the fishing by the river. Love that part of Iowa, I will definitely be back!
Norma McMillian2024-07-08My family and I stayed at Village Creek Cabin during the week. The cabin was beautifully decorated, and the outside was just as beautiful with the welcoming pool and hot tub. I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery, wildlife, and the serenity that this cabin provided! We will be back! I highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat and a relaxing time.
Damir Kasupovic2024-07-04Awesome place for a getaway from the city life, calm, quiet, relaxing and peaceful, we stayed at Wexford Hollow Lodge and loved it, this is our 2nd stay at Iowa Cabin Rentals and we’ll be back again, if I’d have to pick something to complain about it would be the grills outside, but other than that everything else was awesome!
Bob Hupp2024-05-18I never wrote a review for our stay 2 years ago at “Walnut” because I didn’t want to give an emotional response. I can say this is a bad value. I have now stayed at multiple rental cabins in the Smoky Mountains and additionally on the Florida beaches and they were similarly priced except everything was brand new and exceptionally clean with super responsive owners/managers. If you don’t want to read all this just know they don’t maintain or replace anything in the property (structure, furniture, grills, etc.). Just seems like a big money grab extracting as much money from you while reinvesting as little as possible. Stuff just wears out and should be replaced. I’ll keep it short: 1. The deck and roof was pretty dilapidated and was in need of attention. It was getting to the point of neglect that it would have been almost been appropriate to reinstall new. 2. The “grill” was absolutely past its useful life. Unusable. 3. They advertised having satellite TV but there was none…. We didn’t travel to the cabin to watch TV, but at night when the kids went to bed it would have been nice to catch a baseball game. 4. Hot tub was in need of new water/chemicals… it was super cloudy. 5. Couch smelled from years of sweaty people being on it. No exaggeration. 6. Cleaning fee was hard to pay after it looked like someone might have only swept the main walkways with a broom to prepare for our stay. There is definitely more, but traveling more the last few years has opened my eyes on how bad that stay was for the price. One last thing, they didn’t have air conditioning (it was advertised) and had to rush and install 2 old window units (that couldn’t keep up with the heat) in the cabin when I asked what the deal was. They used cardboard to cover up the gaps which left locking the doors a waste of time since an intruder could easily move the cardboard to gain entry. It was unseasonably warm in May when we stayed, so I can’t knock the window units too much, it just reinforced how unprofessional everything was.
Phil Lewandowski2024-05-17Stayed at Boulder Run, the cabin was beautiful, rustic, and very comfortable. Pool and hot tub were the cherry on top. The local area is an excellent landscape as well, with the Mississippi river nearby if you want to go fishing or boating. My only complaint is I only had enough time to stay for one weekend! Will definitely be coming back. This area is a hidden gem.

Just the pool, hottub, and gorgeous cabin were enough for us but we also explored the land, fished the Mississippi River, grilled wild ramps and asparagus. Truly a perfect weekend getaway for the whole group, already planning our next trip #itneverends
